Everything You Need to Know

Am I invited to everything?

The events mentioned on your invite and when you click through to RSVP are the events you're invited to. As you'll notice the Q&As mention multiple events, so please be aware of what you're invited to.

Can I bring a plus one?

As much as we'd love everyone there, just the names mentioned on your invite on the RSVP tab are invited.

Gifts and Wishing Well

If you wish to give a gift to the bride and groom they would appreciate any contributions towards their honeymoon and future. A wishing well will be available at the reception. Please no boxed gifts.

Are children invited?

Just children mentioned on the invite are invited. We have decided to limit the number of children due to the very long day.

Where do I need to be for the Hindu Ceremony? (Scott's side only and our friends)

If you're a FRIEND of either Scott or Prenika or a FAMILY member of Scott ONLY. Please meet in the carpark of the events centre. Scott will celebrating and dancing up to the venue to meet Prenika's family. You will be his entourage. There will be a drum player walking up with you so please ensure you're up and dancing and cheering as you walk up to be greeted by Prenika's family. Please arrive promptly for a 2:30pm start. Where do I need to be for the Hindu Ceremony? (Prenika's side only)

If you're family of Prenika's side ONLY please meet inside the lobby entrance of the events centre and congregate with Prenika's family. Please arrive promptly at 2:30pm. If you're Prenika's friend, please meet with Scott's family and friends outside at 2:30pm to form part of the entourage. Refer to Photo

What is the dress code for Haldi?

Sunset colours (yellow and orange) and white/ beige, please wear traditional Indian outfits (Kurti/Kurtas) if possible.

What is the dress code for the Mendhi and Sangeet night?

Indian Party wear or BRIGHT! Think pink, purple, yellow, orange, blue, green and gold!

What is the dress code for the Civil Ceremony?

Black tie or traditional Indian. Please still no shorts, jeans, flip flops etc

What is the dress code for the Hindu Ceremony?

Traditional Indian! If you do not have one then consider renting, buying or borrowing one. Alternatively, if you're really stuck for options then please dress in Black Tie. Please no shorts, flip flops or jeans. Please wear your best suits and dresses!

Do I have time to get changed between ceremonies?

Yes!! There should be a few hours between ceremonies to relax and get ready for an evening of celebration! If you want to guarantee a place to get ready then we suggest booking a hotel room close by. Please check the Travel tab for accommodation recommendations.

What is a Mendhi and Sangeet evening?

Sangeet and Mehndi are two Indian wedding functions that are organised one or two days before the wedding day. In sangeet, family members on either side organise and song and dance party. Expect food, drinks, dancing and games! Expect lots of bollywood hits! During the mehndi ceremony, the bride and women wear intricate designs made from henna paste on their hands and feet. Feel free to come check it out when you arrive.

Will there be parking?

Yes! There is a large number of on street parking along the surrounding areas of the venue. Please be aware there are some areas that require you to pay for parking, however costs are minimal. If you do not wish to pay for parking, drive further down residential roads to find a free car park. Alternatively there is public transport and taxis/ ubers. I would love to dress up but I don't know where to buy outfits from?

Your local city should have options such as Wellington, Lower Hutt and those living around the rest of New Zealand, Christchurch and Auckland have options. If you don't find something appropriate then online is a great option. What colours should I avoid on the wedding day?

Hindu Ceremony: Traditionally the bride wears red for her wedding day, so please refrain from wearing red. Civil ceremony: Traditionally the bride wears white, so please avoid wearing white dresses
